Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Microbial Bioinformatics

Salary

$134,910 to $160,222

Required Qualification

(i) A PhD in a relevant field such as microbial ecology, microbial genomics, or bioinformatics.

(ii) At least four years of postdoctoral experience with expertise in bioinformatics and coding languages.

(iii) Preferably, experience in human microbiome data analysis.

(iv) Strong ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary research team.

(v) Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Lead bioinformatic analysis of microbiome samples from Defence cohorts and preclinical models.

(ii) Investigate the relationship between the gut microbiome, cognitive function, mental health, diet, and stress in military personnel.

(iii) Conduct research on microbiome-targeted interventions for cognitive and health improvements.

(iv) Utilize and develop bioinformatics tools to analyze microbial communities.

(v) Collaborate with researchers across genomics, immunology, oncology, and gastroenterology at the Centre for Microbiome Research within the Translational Research Institute.

(vi) Contribute to academic publications, presentations, and project development.
