Scholarship Host

The Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship is jointly provided by the Australian Commonwealth Government and the University of Melbourne. It is designed for high-achieving domestic and international graduate research students.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

(i) Apply for and meet the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne, or be currently enrolled in one.

(ii) Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, considering academic achievements, research potential, and relevant experience.

Benefits

(i) Full tuition fee remission for up to two years for a Master's by Research or up to four years for a doctoral degree.

(ii) An annual living allowance of $37,000 (2024 rate) for up to 2 years for a Master’s by Research or up to 3.5 years for a doctoral degree, including limited paid leave.

(iii) A relocation grant of $2,000 for interstate students or $3,000 for international students.

(iv) Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students requiring a visa.

(v) The total benefit amount can reach up to $135,000.
