Eligibility Criteria

(I) Competitive selection based on academic achievement, research outputs, and relevant professional experience.

(II) Priority given to those with high distinction (80% or higher) in the final two years of the qualifying program.

(III) Consideration of equivalent academic attainment through previous study, work experience, research publications, and other research experience.

(IV)Ability to receive a scholarship for a minimum of 12 months full-time (or part-time equivalent).

(V) Must not have completed a graduate research program at the same or higher course level.

(VI) Not previously held an RMIT or Commonwealth-funded postgraduate research scholarship unless terminated within six months.

(VII) Must be enrolled and based primarily at an RMIT Australian campus.

(VIII) International applicants must meet English language requirements by the application closing date.

(IX) Part-time applications may be approved for local applicants with exceptional circumstances.

(X) Current or transferring candidates must have at least 24 months (PhD) or 12 months (Masters) of candidature remaining.

(XI) Ineligibility if already holding equivalent research qualifications or receiving another award/scholarship with more than 75% of the stipend value.

Benefits

(I) Stipend of $35,886 per annum (pro rata, full-time), subject to annual indexation.

(II) International candidates also receive an RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship (RIFOS) or an RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship (RRITFS).

(III) Local candidates (Australian and New Zealand citizens or permanent residents) receive an RTP Fee Offset scholarship, covering tuition fees.

(IV ) Relocation allowance up to $1,540.

(V) Paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave (within scholarship terms).Duration: 3.5 years for doctoral scholarships, 2 years for Masters scholarships.
