Product Development Engineer

Salary:

$100,000 – $130,000 per year

Required Qualification:

Accredited or recognized Australian tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.

Eligible for membership to Engineers Australia as a professional member.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design or engineering roles.

Proficiency in 3D CAD design and drafting.

Ability to interpret Australian/New Zealand Standards and ISO Standards for regulatory compliance.

Experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to manufacturing in China being advantageous.

Preferred experience in the container or transport equipment industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with SCF divisional representatives and customers to design and develop innovative container solutions and improve existing products.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders, as well as international and local suppliers, to develop and deliver prototypes and products.

Establish and manage the framework, scope, and budget of mechanical design projects, ensuring they are fit for purpose.

Oversee and enhance engineering processes within the team, providing innovative design solutions to meet market needs.

Ensure compliance with applicable Australian/New Zealand and international standards in product designs.

Manage project timelines, communicate progress with stakeholders, and take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they are completed within the planned cost, time, and resource budgets.

Provide expert technical advice, reports, and contribute to presentations for product delivery.
