Scholarship Host
The scholarship is hosted by the Mathematics Applied to Biology Group within the Department of Mathematics at the University of Sussex.
Eligibility Criteria
(i) Applicants must have, or expect to achieve, at least a UK upper second-class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
(ii) A lower second-class undergraduate degree is acceptable if followed by a relevant Master's degree.
(iii) Strong foundation in mathematical modeling.
(iv) Interest in infectious disease epidemiology and biological or medical mathematical modeling.
(v) Desirable: Experience in parameter estimation, Bayesian methods, and computer programming
(vi) Good communication skills.
(vii) Open to UK and international applicants.
(viii) Non-UK/EU candidates will require a student study visa.
