NCUK Postgraduate Taught Scholarships

The University of Sheffield is offering the NCUK (Northern Consortium United Kingdom) Postgraduate Taught Scholarship for international students enrolling in a taught master’s program in September 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

(i) Applicants must have received and accepted an offer for a full-time or part-time taught master’s program at the University of Sheffield before 4:00 PM (UK time) on July 8, 2025.

(ii) The program must begin in September 2025 at the University of Sheffield.

(iii) Distance learning programs, Postgraduate Diplomas (PGDip), and Postgraduate Certificates (PGCert) are not eligible.

(iv) The scholarship is only available to self-funded international students paying overseas tuition fees.

(v) Students enrolled in joint programs between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution, as well as Erasmus Mundus and Crossways courses, are ineligible.

(vii) Certain clinical postgraduate courses (such as DClinDent Orthodontics and MClinDent in Paediatric Dentistry) do not qualify.

(viii) Applicants must be studying a pre-master’s qualification at an NCUK Centre in any country.

(ix) Those pursuing an integrated Masters/PhD can receive the scholarship for the Master’s component only.

Benefits

(i) Tuition fee reduction of £2,000 for students in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Faculty of Social Sciences.

(ii) Tuition fee reduction of £2,500 for students in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health, and Faculty of Science.

(iii) The scholarship cannot be combined with other major University of Sheffield scholarships, but may be awarded alongside faculty or department-specific funding.

(iv) Part-time students will receive the award on a pro-rata basis over the duration of their studies.

(v) The scholarship cannot be deferred to a later academic year.

Scholarship Deadline

Applicants must accept their offer by 4:00 PM (UK time) on July 8, 2025 to qualify for the scholarship.
