Medical Laboratory Technologist

Salary

$36.69 - $45.81 per hour

Required Qualification

(i) Relevant education and certifications in medical laboratory technology

(ii) Knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and safety protocols

(iii) Awareness of systemic and Indigenous-specific racism in healthcare, with a commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility

(iv) Understanding of provincial and legislative commitments related to Indigenous rights and anti-racism initiatives

(v) Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

(vi) Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Collect and process laboratory samples from patients

(ii) Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results following established protocols

(iii) Prepare necessary reagents, solutions, and controls for testing

(iv) Communicate test results to relevant healthcare professionals

(v) Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments while troubleshooting technical issues

(vi) Ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards

(vii) Participate in policy development and evaluation of technical procedures
