Scholarship Host

The Maastricht University NL-High Potential Scholarship is hosted by Maastricht University (UM) in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, and is administered through the UM International Services Desk.

Eligibility Criteria

(i) Applicants must meet the following requirements:

(ii) Hold a nationality outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam, and meet the visa and residence permit requirements for the Netherlands.

(iii) Not possess dual nationality with an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.

(iii) Be admitted to a full-time, participating master’s programme at Maastricht University for the 2025-2026 academic year.

(iii) Fulfill the admission requirements of the master’s programme applied for.

(iv) Have no prior enrollment in a degree-seeking programme in the Netherlands, except for exchange programmes.

(v) Be under 35 years of age as of September 1, 2025.

(vi) Achieve excellent academic results, with a GPA of 7.5 out of 10 or higher.

(vii) Submit a complete application with all required documents before the deadline.

Benefits

(i) Living Expenses: €15,925 for 13 months (one-year programme) or €30,625 for 25 months (two-year programme).

(ii) Health and Liability Insurance: Covered at €700.

(iii) Visa Application Costs: Fully covered.

(iv) Tuition Fees: Paid directly by the UM International Services Desk.

(v) Pre-Academic Training Costs: Fully covered.

(vi) International Student Ambassador Programme (ISAP): Costs for the first block covered.

(vii) Accommodation: Mandatory housing is provided, with specific requirements considered. Refusing the allocated room will result in scholarship cancellation.

Scholarship Deadline

The application deadline is February 1, 2025, at 23:59 CET.
