Scholarship Host

The GRDC (Grains Research and Development Corporation) Research Scholarship (GRS) supports PhD candidates in conducting innovative research that benefits the Australian grains industry. The scholarship is part of GRDC's RD&E (Research, Development, and Extension) Plan 2023-28, aiming to enhance the sustainability and profitability of grain farming businesses in Australia.

Eligibility Criteria

(i) Applicants must be enrolled in full-time PhD studies, with an alignment to GRDC’s RD&E Plan 2023-28.

(ii) The scholarship is primarily a top-up for those already receiving a Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship or equivalent.

(iii) International students must have a university tuition fee waiver and living allowance.

(iv) Applicants must submit at least two referee reports, including one from the principal supervisor.

(v) The PhD topic should address specific focus areas identified in GRDC’s RD&E Plan.

Benefits

(i) The scholarship provides a stipend of $23,750 annually for three years.

(ii) An additional operating budget of $11,000 per year is included.

(iii) Up to $5,550 is available for travel expenses related to conferences, workshops, or skills development throughout the scholarship duration.

Scholarship Deadline

Applications open on Monday, September 2.

The deadline for submission of inquiries is Monday, October 7.

The final application submission deadline is Monday, October 14.
