Engineering Intern

Salary

$73,655 to $82,993 annually, plus a 15.4% superannuation contribution.

Required Qualification

(I) Currently in the third year (or about to complete) of a Bachelor of Engineering in fields such as Electrical, Electronics, Software, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering from an Australian institution.

(II) Experience working in small, multidisciplinary technical teams.

(III) Practical skills in developing and building small-scale electronics/mechanical projects, including design, integration, and assembly.

(IV) Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing).

(V) Proficiency in CAD design tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks).

(VI) Knowledge of embedded software design and programming (Python or C preferred).

(VII) Experience with embedded Linux systems and robotics/autonomous technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

(I) Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of ReefScan robotic, autonomous, and sensor systems.

(II) Contribute to creating and refining survey platforms, including underwater towed, remotely operated, and autonomous platforms for use in coral reef environments.

(III) Assist in developing technology for underwater and surface survey systems and their sensors.

(IV) Engage in system design, building, integration, and testing of autonomous vessels and sensor collection platforms.
