Destination Australia Scholarship (International students)

The Destination Australia Scholarship for international students is funded by the Australian Government's Department of Education and aligns with the National Strategy for International Education 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

(i) Be an international student with a valid student visa.

(ii) Be commencing a new program at UQ in 2025, including UQ alumni starting a different program.

(iii) Have a full offer to study an eligible program entirely at the UQ Gatton campus.

(iv) Study full-time in an internal study mode and reside in a regional area of Australia as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure 2016.

(v) Students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, first-generation tertiary students, and those with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Benefits

The scholarship provides:

(i) AUD $15,000 per year.

(ii) Support for the duration of the program, up to a maximum of 4 years.

Scholarship Deadline

Applications open: August 2024.

Applications close: February 2025.
