CPA Accounting Practice

Job Position

Tax Accountant/Manager at a CPA Public Accounting Practice, focusing on high-net-worth family groups, small to medium-sized businesses, and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs).

Salary

The salary range is $86,000 to $120,000 per year, plus a bonus scheme.

Required Qualifications

(i) A minimum of 3 years' experience in a CPA or CA Accounting & Taxation Practice.

(ii) Must hold a university degree and be professionally qualified as a CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).

(iii) Proficiency in MYOB AE, as well as cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Intuit, and Reckon.

(iv) Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs.

(v) Ability to manage and prioritize client work using MYOB AE Job Manager.

(vi) Experience in providing guidance, reviewing work, and delegating tasks to junior staff.

(vii) Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain tax matters clearly and simply.

(viii) A commitment to pursuing a long-term career in public accounting.

Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Prepare financial statements and income tax returns with a strong emphasis on accounting skills using MYOB AE.

(ii) Manage tax compliance for various entities, including trusts, companies, SMSFs, and partnerships.

(iii) Handle the preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Business Activity Statements (BAS), and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).

(iv)Provide strategic advice in client meetings and build strong relationships with both new and existing clients.

(v) Research and resolve complex tax issues, and effectively communicate findings to partners and clients.

(vi) Identify opportunities for client growth and implement new technologies to improve business workflows.

(vii) Perform tax planning for high-net-worth clients.

(viii) Manage all aspects of SMSF accounting, administration, tax preparation, and audits using BGL cloud-based software.

(ix)Liaise with external auditors for SMSF audit requirements and provide SMSF strategies to assist financial planners.
