Biomedical Technician – Department of Health, Queensland (Toowoomba & Darling Downs Region)

Salary

Annual salary range of $74,328 to $100,227, plus 12.75% superannuation and additional benefits.

Required Qualifications

(i) Possession of, or willingness to obtain within 6 months, relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., Restricted Electrical Work Licence).

(ii) Valid “C” class driver’s license (mandatory for operating government vehicles).

(iii) Educational background or hands-on experience in electronic/mechanical systems or related health technology fields.

(iv) Familiarity with routine engineering processes in equipment installation, servicing, and maintenance.

(v) Capability to mentor junior staff or students.

(vi) Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.

(vii) Commitment to quality assurance and ongoing improvement practices.

(viii) Evidence of relevant qualifications and registrations (if applicable) required upon appointment.

Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Provide routine technical services, including equipment installation, diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance under guidance.

(ii) Maintain accurate service records and documentation in appropriate systems.

(iii) Support senior team members in managing local resources such as spare parts, manuals, and test instruments.

(iv) Liaise with healthcare professionals, suppliers, and service teams to meet performance goals.

(v) Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold health and safety standards.
