The Australian Government RTP Scholarship (International) is funded by the Australian government and supports exceptional international postgraduate research students at the University of Sydney.

Eligibility Criteria

(i) To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

(ii) Be commencing or currently enrolled international postgraduate research students.

(iii) Have an outstanding academic record and strong research potential, with research publications being highly valued.

(iv) Hold an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled in a master’s by research or PhD program at the University of Sydney.

Benefits

The scholarship provides:

(i) An annual stipend of $40,109 (as of 2024) to cover living expenses.

(ii) Overseas health coverage.

(iii) Full tuition fee coverage.

Scholarship Deadline

The scholarship is open year-round, but specific submission deadlines must be met to be considered for each research period:

(i) For Research Periods 1 and 2, 2024: Submit by 15 September 2023.

(ii) For Research Periods 3 and 4, 2024: Submit by 21 December 2023.

(iii) For Research Periods 1 and 2, 2025: Submit by 13 September 2024.

(iv) For Research Periods 3 and 4, 2025: Submit by 17 December 2024.
