Assistant Research Officer

Salary

$68,500 – $74,000 per year

Required Qualification

(i) At least 1 year of administrative experience

(ii) Studying towards or holding a degree in Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field

(iii) Familiarity with native title or heritage in Queensland (preferred)

(iv) Experience in filing and archiving research materials

(v) Experience working with Aboriginal communities

(vi) Strong communication and computer skills

(vii) Strong attention to detail

(viii) Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage priorities

(ix) Organizational and time management skills

(x) Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Assist with research related to native title claims and other inquiries

(ii) Compile and organize genealogical, anthropological, geospatial, and historical documents

(iii) Provide administrative support by managing research materials and handling archival requests

(iv) Maintain research databases and organize the Research Library

(v) Transcribe interviews

(vi) Collaborate with anthropologists and other team members on research projects
